2:46 — Aftershocks: Stories from the Japan Earthquake.
The 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami in Japan was such a devastating event that it demanded a response. Tomomi McElwee, a member of the Carlow Digital team and originally from Japan, assisted in translating part of the book featured here.
The brainchild of Patrick Sherriff, 2:46 — Aftershocks: Stories from the Japan Earthquake, was produced and published in just 4 weeks following the tsunami. It featured contributions from Yoko Ono, William Gibson, Barry Eisler and Jake Adelstein, with additional contributions from many others in Japan and from around the world.
The video was Carlow Digital's contribution to the promotion of the book. It was made possible thanks to generous support from Scala & Kolacny Brothers and Kings of Leon. Photographs were supplied by Japanese-based photographer Max Hodges.
